Another Max Credit Union Scam

Yes, I also bank with Max and received this text message last night at 8:27, but with a different telephone number. I knew it was a scam, as this was the second time I’ve had a text message on my cell phone. My husband also has had them on his phone. It’s very upsetting that “these people” have enough information to contact us. We should pass this around to be sure others know not to respond to these messages. As the lady at Max told me – they’re “fishing” for information and as soon as someone gives them what they need – they’ll clean out your account. The daughter of one of our employees had this happen to her – she fell for it and they took $6,000 from her account.

Thanks,
Betty

At approximately 8 PM tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 22, I received a text message that stated: From eddie@onramp.net <mailto:eddie@onramp.net> Your Max Federal CU acct is suspected for unknown activity, call us at 6196666128, Wed Oct 22, 7:58 PM, Call back. A Max long time Federal Credit Union Supervisor (I know her well enough to contact her at home) has confirmed that this is a scam. As long as members do not respond to this text message, giving them personal info...your accounts are ok. She also stated that these scams are being conducted at other banking institutions, as well. Our daughter has also received the same text message. Thanks.
