Pet of the Week
Bandit is a wonderful and handsome two year old neutered male kitty who is just as loving as he can be, great with other cats, and just needs a lap to call his own. Bandit has been with us far too long and the only special need he has is to be fed a Sensitive System type dry food which can be found at any of our area Pet Supply Stores and even large retailers. We will even reduce Bandit’s adoption fee by half to get him into a loving and caring home. Our adoption fee is $100 for dogs & $80 for our cats and covers their mandatory spay/or neuter, basic immunizations, de-worming, microchip, heartworm check for dogs, rabies vaccination if old enough, and a free health exam. Only six days left to get to that #1 spot in The Animal Rescue Site Shelter Challenge. Being in the #2 spot has gone on long enough, so we need everyone and your friends, coworkers, children and more to vote for us these last six days to take over and keep that #1 spot so we can win $1000. Go to www.animalrescuesite.com and then to the Shelter Challenge tab on the right side of the page – vote for our shelter every day on every computer or smart phone you can! We can do it – this contest wraps up on 18 April and there is no consolation prize for 2nd place.
Our Supply Drive at the Millbrook Wal-Mart his past Saturday was a huge success thanks to the Millbrook Wal-Mart, our volunteers and all those who purchased & donated supply items to our shelter. Besides the supplies we also received $201 in donations and are greatly appreciative of everyone’s wonderful support.
This coming Saturday is going to be a busy one and we hope everyone can join us for the Wetumpka RIVERFEST in Goldstar Park! Stop by and check out our booth and we also hope you stop by the Wetumpka Rotary table to check out the two cedar dog houses they are raffling for only $5 per ticket! These two extremely high quality dog houses were built by Bobby Johnson Builder and you can buy your ticket to compete for either the one with a tin roof and porch or the other with a cedar roof and deck! The Wetumpka Rotary is raffling these dog houses to help raise funds for a few local charities to include our shelter. Both houses are big enough to handle a large dog and are of superb quality. Any dog would love to hang out in one of these to, so make sure you get your ticket before the winners are announced Saturday afternoon!
Looking to have a professional portrait done of your pet and support our shelter? On the 5th of June, Anna Bishop Photography will be taking professional pet photographs at Southern Homes and Gardens on Hwy 231 to benefit our shelter. The sitting fee for this is only $50 and all of that will be donated to our shelter. You will need to schedule your pet’s photo with Anna so she can plan for everyone so contact her at 334-546-5929. If you would like to see examples of Anna’s work, just go to her website at www.annabishopphotography.com. For those who truly love your pet, you won’t want to miss out on this.
Our Tails End Thrift Store has swapped out all of the winter clothes for summer clothes and they are running a great spring sale on these this week, so be sure to stop by Thu, Fri or Sat from 9 am – 3 pm for some great deals. The Thrift Store is located at our shelter location at 255 Central Plank Road, Wetumpka.
