Trudy is a seven month old smaller Shepherd/Husky mix looking gal who is just a sweet dog of about 35 lbs that needs a family to call her own. She has been with us for too long now which we don't understand as she is as cute as she can be, loves the water, is great with other dogs and is just a wonderful girl. Trudy’s adoption fee is $100 which covers her spay, basic immunizations, de-worming, microchip, heartworm check for dogs, rabies vaccination if old enough, and a free health exam. And right now our cat and kitten adoption fee has been reduced to $40 which still covers all of the normal adoption benefits. We hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend and that your pets also came through this noisy weekend safe and sound. If your pet is missing, however, please call us without delay to report your missing (or found) pet. We also ask that you physically come by the shelter to look for your pet as your description of your pet and what we are seeing sometimes just does not match up. We cannot tell you how many times a pet has been with us for many days or longer before their owner decided to give us a call. We hold strays for seven days in hopes of the owner coming to reclaim the pet, so time is of the essence in regards to letting us know your pet is missing. Please call us at 334-567-3377 as reuniting lost pets with their owners is something we love doing. You can also fill out a lost/found report on our website at www.elmorehumane.org and sending us pictures via email (or bringing one to the shelter) is the ultimate way to help us spot your missing pet immediately.
It is now only four weeks away for our Wags & Whiskers “Bone-A-Fit” Silent Auction on Friday, July 30th at the Wetumpka Civic Center! We have almost 400 items up for auction to include art, collectibles, antiques, gift certificates, one-of-a-kind items and so much more. There will definitely be something for everyone and you can preview each and every item on our website at www.elmorehumane.org . Admission is $15 per person, or $25 per couple and the doors will open at 6:30 pm to an evening of great food, music, door prizes and lots of fun. Due to changes in the rules, this event will be BYOB. Bill Dollar from I-92 WLWI-FM is going to join us to help DJ our event and we will also have a Live Auction during the evening to spice things up. We are finalizing the program, so any items received after the 1st may be in the auction but not on-line or in the program, they may be listed as “too late to list” or they may be held for our 2012 auction. We hope you will join us for our biggest fund raising event of the year and bring your family & friends to see what treasures they can bid on and take home. All the proceeds from our auction go directly to helping our animals and ensuring we can keep our doors open to so many that need our help.
